Subject: Poor Customer Service
Comment: I've visited Trop Gun Shop many times in the past 3 years, but this past Friday will likely be the last. I had thought that my experiences might be coincidence, but now I'm convinced that what I've seen consistently is just the way Trop does business.
With exception of about 3 employees, the remainder don't seem to have the time to bother with customers, especially children customers.
Typically I find that the help would rather chat amoungst themselves or visit with the regular customers than assist me when I'm obviously gazing with interest at something behind the counter glass.
Amoung several others, my three notable non-customer-oriented experiences were:
A- I purchased my first gun and it went on sale 2 days later. When I challenged this, they took a few days to decide whether or not to offer me any credit on the $25 difference.
B- My 9-yr old son purchased an item. Turned out that a completely different item was inside the sealed wrapping. They were begrudging about correcting the problem.
C- On Friday, we were walking toward the door at 8:59PM when I stopped for just a moment to look at a rifle. One of the old crochety men sternly told me that they could not begin to close up until I left. ...how rude!
When we purchase that Mossberg in a few days, I'll pass right by Trop on my way to Kinsey's only a mile further up the road.
